Looking For Alaska

“Happiness can exist only in acceptance” – George Orwell

My opinion on the novel

People say there are five stages of grief, denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. Looking for Alaska demonstrates the stages more clear than any other novels in this blog. The novel revolves around a protagonist who losses a close friend, Alaska, and facilitates story of him coping the loss. As Miles realize the death of Alaska, he blurts out “I think she’s playing a dumb prank.”(141)
Through out the novel readers will journey along side of a teenager coping with grief.

Who am i
Takumi is the kind of a guy who’s there yet not really, at the same time. I’m not talking about being quiet, or anything of that sort; in fact, he’s one of the more energetic characters in the novel. When I say he’s there yet not really, I mean even though he’s present, he affects little or no impact on people around him. He just blends in a crowd. That is ME. I just blend. Like Takumi, I’m there for the sake of being there.
